New CCTV rules for farms ...

In a document published by Arla Foods and in response to the recent spike in criminal activity at dairy farms it is now mandatory that farms have CCTV installed. The new rules insist that every dairy farm must install CCTV for security purposes - and as a minimum in the hospital pen, calving pen and parlour - where indoors. Footage must be retained for a minimum of 30 days. It states that CCTV in key areas of the farm can provide an essential tool to aid farms who are ever targeted by animal rights groups, to demonstrate the good practice they have in place. Evidence of functioning CCTV will be required in key areas.
